WORK TECHNIQUE
Below is a detailed description of work technology as well as
required connections and products that should be used
together with the ActSafe PME. However, it should be
considered that this instruction does not replace any training
that is necessary for using this kind of equipment.
At the first opportunity (or, if you wish, at any use of the
equipment) on a support the “Line Thrower” is applied to
“rocket high” the guiding lines. The guiding line attachment
hole on the work rope is burned in by a soldering iron. The
end of guiding line is tied to the end of the working rope as
shown.
When using the device for first time on a mast the worker
has to climb up the mast using a full-body-harness and
rescue ropes in accordance with EN363 (Fall Arrest System).
If the mast/pole has a fixed guiding line, the sling has to be
mounted so that the guiding line:
a) is hanging down to the ground when wrapped around a
wire rope
b) is hanging freely after fixation to prevent it from wear and
tear.
When the guiding lines are positioned the working rope is tied
and lifted. The safety rope can be lifted simultaneously.
Tie a “ figure of eight” at the end of ropes and connect them by
a karabiner and slings. Affix as low as possible to the pole (two
separate fixation points). The safety rope should have the
CE-marking according to EN1891 and safety device by
EN353-2.
